John Thompson III | Georgetown Princeton Offense “Thumbs Down” | Baseline Out of Bounds Play | Special Situations

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

John Thompson III Georgetown Princeton Offense "Thumbs Down"

I have really been impressed with Coach Stephen Dale’s Princeton Offense Hooptalk.  He is the assistant varsity boys basketball coach at University High School in Baton Rouge, LA (on the campus of LSU).  I know that you are going to love this new segment on princeton offense “Thumbs Down” (Baseline Out of Bounds Play)

Coach Stephen Dale

Make sure that you check out Today’s edition of Basketball Plays on Princeton Offense Thumbs Down (Baseline Out of Bounds Play).

“Thumbs Down” is a BLOB (baseline out-of-bound) play John Thompson III ran last season at Georgetown.  Coach Thompson scored off this set, and a couple of variations to it, in a win against Villanova. This play is designed to get an easy lay-up for the guard coming off the post’s backscreen, or for the post slipping if his defender helps.Coach Dale is doing a great job with his blog.  It is a must to read everyday!
