Coach Dean Cooper Pick and Roll Offense

Dean Cooper Notes

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Today’s basketball coaching clinic notes are on NBA Houston Rockets Assistant Coach Dean Cooper and the Pick and Roll Offense.

We have a detailed set of basketball coaching clinic notes on a NBA Pick and Roll Offense.  Dean Cooper is back with the NBA Houston Rockets having worked with Kevin McHale and J.B. Bickerstaff in Minnesota, but he also worked in the past on the personnel side with Daryl Morey, Gersson Rosas, Sam Hinkie, and all the other people in the organization.

Coach Dean Cooper believes in being an up-tempo team that moves the ball and plays a fluid game.  Whatever your system is you want to be efficient.  It’s a fun way to play basketball and coach it too.
