Eric Musselman Notes on Basketball Motivational Talks

Basketball Motivational Talks

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Today’s basketball coaching clinic notes are on Eric Musselman and Basketball Motivational Talks

These basketball coaching notes talk about the summer-time, your career, pre-game prep talks, basketball motivational talks, staff motivation, and motivating your team.  Coach Eric Musselman was added to the Arizona State staff last September was one of the more interesting preseason developments in the Pac-12 because it added a new (and rare) dynamic to Herb Sendek’s bench, i.e., a veteran coach with a ton of professional experience. Musselman has been an NBA head coach twice — first with Golden State (2002-04), then with Sacramento (2006-07). He became the youngest head coach in CBA history at the age of 23, an NBA head coach at 38. He was runner-up for the NBA Coach of the Year award at 39. In all, he has been the head coach in 906 pro games.
