Bill Self Kansas Jayhawks “2” Quick Hitter by Dana Beszczynski

The Bill Self Kansas Jayhawks have been a wrecking machine in the Big 12 league play for the past dozen years. The Jayhawks won their 12th consecutive Big 12 title. Bill Self is now 177-39 in conference games since he arrived in Lawrence. Huge numbers!

A lot of people take their shots at Bill Self. Coach Self has only won one national titlel during his time at Kansas and just a pair of Final Four appearances. Ask John Calipari who has just one national championship on his resume, but he has pressure on him. Roy Williams couldn’t win a title at Kansas.

College basketball is measure by what you do in March and April. What your team does in the NCAA Tournament comes down to match-ups and a little bit of luck.

The Bill Self Kansas Jayhawks have struggle in the postseason in his tenure, but they just began thier quest for a national championship. They play their last game today against a 21st-ranked Iowa State that has had Kansas’ number of late.

Now that they have wrapped up the regular season Big 12 title, the Bill Self Kansas Jayhawks don’t want to come out flat tonight. Their motion is to deliver the Kansas Fans their first national championship since 2008.

The Kansas Jayhawks have a 10 game winning streak heading into thier game with the Cyclones (21-9, 10-7), who handed them their last loss Jan. 25. Iowa State has won four of the past five meetings, including eliminating Kansas both times en route to winning the last two conference tournament titles.

The Cyclones, however, have lost 10 straight visits to Kansas, and the Bill Self Kansas Jayhawks own the nation’s longest active home winning streak at 41.
