The Chris Mack Xavier Newsletter put out the Ultimate guide Pack Line Defense. I know that a lot of you subscribe to their newsletter and if you don’t think you need to think about it. Coach Chris Mack has been running the pack line defense since he got the job at Xavier University. This Ultimate Guide will go over the Pack Line Overview and break it down specifically and they will show you the drills that they run to implement the defense.
Coach Mike Neighbors of Washing Basketball will show what they do on the women’s side of the pack line. He will get into how it’s a team defense and that they get their players to buy into the identity of the pack line.
Coach Jim Boone of Delta State University will show his pressure pack line defense and will go over the key teaching points on the pack line.
Dick Bennett came up with the Pack Line years ago and it’s still going strong. I was looking at the top 10 candidates for Coach of the Year this morning and here are some of the names that run the pack line defense in college: Tony Bennett, Chris Mack, and Sean Miller. They all came off the same coaching tree. That’s three of the coach of the year candidates running the same defense.
The pack line might not be for your team, but it’s still worth taking a look at the Ultimate Guide to Pack Line Defense that was produced by the Xavier University coaches newsletter. It’s just something that I thought that I would share with you. I hope that you are still in the play-offs and if you aren’t then maybe you should look into this defense. I am a HUGE fan of it.
