Zone Offense | Basketball Coaching Clinic Notes on University of Kansas Zone Offense

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Today’s basketball coaching clinic notes are on Bill Self and the 3 Out 2 in Zone Offense that they have named Basic.

These basketball notes give you the 7 principles for beating a zone.  They also give you the diagrams to view the offense and see where to attack the zone.

Zone OffenseMost college and youth teams face a huge problem when their opponents turn their defense to zone. Here you will find an interesting approach on how to “break” zone defenses and how to find free space for your shots.

I think that you will enjoy this zone offense that the University of Kansas runs with Coach Bill Self.
