I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

You can learn from this Basketball coaching clinic notes today.  These Basketball drills will show you a combination of fundamentals and how to play in the princeton offense.  Coach Joe Scott will show your team how to screen, hard cuts, posting up, backdoor cuts, and spacing.

The Princeton offense relys on quick passing The Star Passing Drill will show you movement and good passing drills.  It will show you how to make lay-ups in a variety of ways. Proper basketball coaching fundamentals are essential in this offense.

Screening is helped out by hard cuts to the screen.  All the cuts are based on what the defense is doing on the basketball court.  The basketball players must see the holes in the defense to make basketball plays.

The Princeton Offense is a detailed offense and it is is shown in these basketball coaching clinic notes.  You will be able to show your basketball players these basketball drills to help them understand the individual skills for the Princeton offense.  You will help them be hard to guard and teach them that they can beat any team on their schedule.

The Princeton offense is a slower offense that relies on passing to control the tempo and lower scoring games.  It is a Free-lance offense with less control from the basketball coach unless he calls basketball plays and quick hitters from the bench.  The Princeton Offense can be used versus man and zone defenses.

Joe Scott has built the University of Denver into a consistent winner using the Princeton offense.  They went 22-6 year and were second in conference play.  Coach Scott is building a proven winner with these basketball drills.  You can use these basketball coaching clinic notes even if you don’t run this offense.  These drills are to make your team be more fundamental.
