I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Santa Clara University Play of the Day | Anthony Davis New Orleans Pelicans Play

The NBA New Orleans Pelicans have a budding superstar in Anthony Davis. The NBA and the rest of the world needs to look out for this young man. The fact that Anthony Davis is only 21 years old makes people wonder how his progression will be in a few more years. He needs to figure out what he is doing and how to do it in the league.

The New Orleans Pelicans have an All-Star in Anthony Davis and will be able to keep him if they can figure out a way to get some top-notch free agents. He has a 7 foot – 6 inch wingspan and guard like quickness. Anthony Davis is a defensive nightmare for opposing players who have no clue on how to attack him.

Right now, Anthony Davis is averaging 24.6 points per game, 10.1 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.8 steals for the Pelicans. These numbers are good, but what they can be is why Anthony Davis is a no-brainer for an All-Star selection. The Pelicans currently have a .500 record (12-12) which may seem mediocre, but seeing how they have struggled to garner wins in recent years, the fact that they are considered relevant is a cause for celebration; and the play of Anthony Davis is a direct reflection of it.
