Mark Fox Georgia Bulldogs Man to Man Sets
From 1/26/16 game At LSU
Agony of defeat can easily describe the 2015-2016 Georgia Bulldog season for Coach Mark Fox. In his 7th season as head coach for the BUlldogs, Mark Fox has built the team into a respectable SEC program. In his previous six seasons, Coach Fox has lead the Bulldogs to an overall record of 106-89 with a conference record of 51-51. The Bulldogs have tied for 2nd once and 3rd twice in conference play, reaching the NCAA tournament in 2010-2011, 2014-2015, and the NIT in 2013-2014.
Prior to Georgia, Coach Mark Fox led the Nevada Wolfpack from 2004-05 through the 2008-09 season. In 5 seasons, the Wolfpack finished 1st or tied for 1st in conference 4 seasons, including 3 consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament. In those 5 seasons, Coach Fox led the Wolfpack to an overall record of 123-43 and a WAC conference record of 66-16.
In addition to his two head coaches stints at Nevada and Georgia, Coach Fox has served as an assistant coach at University of Washington (1991-1993), Kansas State (1994-2000), and Nevada (2000-2004).
The 2015-2016 season has been a season of ups and downs for the Bulldogs. As of 2/2/16, their record stands at 11-8 overall and 4-4 in the SEC. That includes an impressive 10-3 record at home although disappointing 1-5 record on the road. While their overall record does not jump off the page, the effort and style that the BUlldogs play begs to differ. Their never give up attitude was on display in a recent game at LSU. While trialing by roughly 9 points with 1:30 to go, the Bulldogs got the game to a one possession contest and nearly pulled off an impressive comeback. That, however, has been the story of their season. Great effort, worthy of a victory but ultimately falling just short. Of their 8 losses, 5 have been by 7pts or less. Of those 5 losses, 3 have been by 4 points or fewer. That effort is a reflection of Coach Fox and his never give up personality.
Up next, the Bulldogs must face a formidable foe in Frank Martin’s South Carolina Gamecocks at home in Athens. The Gamecocks enter the game ranked 25th in the AP poll with a 19-2 record and 2nd place standing in the SEC. This will certainly be a challenge for the Bulldogs but if the first 19 games of the season have shown us anything, it is that Georgia will be up for the challenge.
These 3 sets came against the host LSU Tigers and were key points in an impressive comeback. I hope that these sets can give your team that needed boost down the stretch! Good luck and enjoy the journey!
