I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Coaches,

I am proud to announce that Jimmie Oakman will be a new contributor to our basketball coaching website. I think that you will be totally impressed with his basketball coaching knowledge and work. Coach Oakman will be breaking down Chris Mooney of the Richmond Spiders and their Princeton Offense.

Jimmie Oakman is an Everett, MA native and UMass alum. Spent 3 years as student manager for the UMass Men’s Basketball Team under Derek Kellogg and Vance Walberg. Learning the Dribble Drive offense from the creator himself, Coach Oakman implemented that knowledge to the Amherst High Varsity Boy’s Basketball Team, where he has been coaching for the past 2 seasons. Currently, he is working alongside Championship Productions writing the advertisements for the basketball coaching DVD’s. He has high aspirations of pursuing a coaching career at the next level.
