Below are three set plays used by Division III Wisconsin La Crosse during the 2015-2016 season. La Crosse went 16-10 and 10-4 in WIAC play this past season finishing as the regular season WIAC champion. La Crosse is led by Head Coach Ken Koelbl, who has been the head coach there since 2003-2004. In that time, he has won almost 200 games and has had several seasons with 16+ wins. In 2015-2016, they played a tough regular season schedule including Augustana College (Illinois), Hope College (Michigan), and in-conference rivals Wisconsin Oshkosh and Wisconsin Whitewater.

The plays include some quick actions to score using combination screens.

Celtic Action

1 passes to 4 who passes to 2 on the right wing. 1 then screens away for 3 and 4 makes a UCLA cut off of 5 at the right elbow. La Crosse then moves into a celtic action following the UCLA screen with a ball screen on the wing. As 2 drives middle, 5 rolls to the basket and 4 replaces 5 on the right wing.

Drag Post Curl

In this last play, 1 gets a screen from 5 on the right wing with the other three players on the left side of the floor. If the quick roll or pop is there for 5, 1 will pass to him. If not, 1 passes to 4 and the ball is passed all the way to the corner for 3. 5 then cuts around a staggered screen from 2 and 4 to curl into the post.
