Wes Kosel will enter his first season as an Assistant Coach at Augustana University under Tom Billeter in 2016-2017. Kosel came to Sioux Falls after two season at Colorado College as the lead assistant. Kosel, a native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, served as an assistant coach at Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Texas Lutheran University from 2012-2014. Kosel graduated from the University of Kansas in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He also has a master’s degree in physical education from the University of Houston. While attending Kansas, Kosel served as an assistant coach at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas. A life-long student of the game, Kosel honed his coaching skills by working summer camps for various programs in Texas, Colorado, Missouri, and New Mexico. Kosel also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Certified Personal Trainer, both of which are certifications earned through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Kosel and his wife, Molly, live in Colorado Springs.



Here is a Tom Izzo Michigan State DHO Horns Chin Play. Izzo is a coaching legend and has won 500+ games with the Spartans in 21 seasons as a head coach. His team has made the NCAA Tournament every season since 1997, and he has seven NCAA Division I Final Four Appearances (1999, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2010, and 2015). He also has seven Big Ten Regular Season Championships and five Big Ten Tournament Championships. Izo started coaching at Ishpeming High School in 1977 and then joined the Northern Michigan staff as an assistant coach in 1979. From there, he went on to join the Michigan State program as an assistant from 1983-1995. In 1995 he took over as head coach of the Spartans. Izzo has been NABC Coach of the Year twice, Big Ten Coach of the Year three times, and has also bee awarded the AP College Coach of the Year and the Henry Iba Award. This season, the Spartans are 7-4 and have won three straight since losing to Duke in late November. Michigan State will play Northeastern and Oakland in December before starting conference play against Minnesota on December 27th.

This play starts in a horns set and 1 passes to 2 on the right wing. 1 then makes a shallow cut to the corner and 3 cuts to the top of the key to get the ball. On the pass, 4 sets a back screen for 2 and then sets a ball screen for 3. 3 first looks at 2 on the back cut or for 2 to post up in the lane on the cut. If 2 isn’t there he will clear out and 4 will set the ball screen.
