Drills for Developing Hybrid Players

Today’s game is developing into a position-less player type these days. If you were tall, then it uses to mean that you play around the basket. The position-less player is becoming more and more common in today’s game.

Coach Matthew Driscoll has a unique skill development way to develop your big players into “hybrid” players. You have to make your multi-purpose players that have to the tools to score inside and outside work on their game. They also have to work on their ball handling drills to perfect their attack from the perimeter.

Matthew Driscoll – Ball Handling Drills

Coach Matthew Driscoll has some excellent ball handling drills for post players that can be used with your guards too. These four exercises will help your player’s ability to get by their defender with an attack move and then drive to the rim. These basketball drills will help your players get better control of the ball as their space shrinks when they go to the basket.

In the next set of ball handling drills, Coach Matthew Driscoll uses ball handling with finishing around the rim. Each move will stress the change of direction to get your opponent on their back foot. These players will work on floaters, step back jumpers, “Stockton” move, and pro-steps.
