NABC October Playbook – Spurs Double High Post Screen the Scorer
In this play, 1 passes to 5 at the high post then loops around to the corner. 2 cuts up from the block to the top of the key and gets the ball from 5. 2 then gets a screen from 4 and drives towards the basket. If 2 isn’t open, he can also flare to the wing for a shot.
NABC International October Playbook – Houston Rockets Stagger Hand-Off
1 passes to 4 stepping out from the high post. 1 and 5 then set a staggered screen for 2. 4 gives the ball to 2 on a dribble hand-off.
NABC October Playbook – Houston Rockets Small-Big Screen
1 passes to 4 then sets a down-screen for 2 in the corner with 5. 2 curls around the screen into the lane. 1 screens down for 5 who cuts up for a shot.
NABC International Playbook – Houston Rockets Curl Slip
1 passes to 4 then cuts to the right corner. 5 screens down for 2. If x5 shows on the cut from 2, 5 slips to the rim for an easy basket.
NABC October Playbook – Brose Baskets Bamberg
2 makes a zipper cut off of 4. If 2 isn’t open, he cuts off of a flare screen from 5 as 3 cuts to the corner off of a screen from 4. If neither is open, 1 passes to 5 then cuts to the rim looking for a quick pass back.
NABC International October Playbook – Germany Stagger to Weakside Hand-Off
2 cuts across the floor off of a screen from 5 and 4. 3 passes to 5 stepping out. 5 then dribbles to the corner and looks to give the ball to 1 on a dribble hand-off.

Wes Kosel is an assistant coach for men’s basketball under Head Coach Andy Partee at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. Kosel joined the staff at Colorado College after serving two seasons as an assistant coach at Texas Lutheran University and one season at Haskell Indian Nations University. Kosel has an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Houston. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), both certifications given through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He has coached summer AAU programs, volunteered with elementary and middle school basketball teams, and has worked basketball camps for various programs including the Houston Rockets, USA Basketball, University of Houston, Colorado, New Mexico, Air Force, Texas State, and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Kosel is also a member of the NABC International Committee and serves as the committee’s social media manager.
