Must See X’s & O’s – Louisville Cardinals Big Monday Set Plays by Wes Kosel
Here are two plays used by Coach Rick Pitino and his Louisville Cardinals during the Duke vs. Louisville game going on tonight. The game is at the half right now with Duke up 11 but Louisville will look to make a run in the second half. The Cardinals are 19-4 this season and 8-2 in ACC play. They have only lost at home once this season (versus Virginia on January 30th). The Cardinals just placed a school-imposed ban for the post-season this year, but Pitino will still have his players playing hard. In this game, Pitino has been running his wings off of several screens to make the Duke defenders chase. He has also been looking to pound the ball inside with his bigs.

Louisville Cardinals Big Monday Set Plays – Double Duck
4 sets a high ball-screen for 1 as 5 looks to duck-in under the rim. If 5 isn’t open, 1 passes to 4 on the pop. 4 passes to 2 and follows with a ball-screen. As 2 drives middle, 5 again ducks-in looking to get position on the Duke defenders.
