Mike Anderson Arkansas Razorbacks Nike Clinic notes

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Mike Anderson Arkansas Razorbacks Nike Clinic notes

The Mike Anderson Arkansas Razorbacks Nike Clinic notes by Matt Woodcock will describe how Coach Anderson uses the press and tempo that he learned from Nolan Richarson. Coach Richardson won a NJCAA Title and NCAA Division 1 Title playing this way. It’s a fun way for players to play.

Mike Anderon watched Arkansas practice on Thursday and Tempo was the number one thing that he wanted to focus on. The Arkansas Razorbacks play Seton Hall in the NCAA Tournament today at 12:30 pm.

The Razorbacks want to stuff the ball down the Pirate’s throat all game. They want to wear the legs off of all the seven Seton Hall players that get playing time. The Razorbacks want to grab rebounds, make baskets and force turnovers.

The Seton Hall Pirates want to grind it out in the half court, so it will be a battle of wills to control the tempo. Angel Delgado from Seton Hall leads the nation in rebounds with 13.1 per game. He scores 15.3 points per game. He has great vision and sees the whole court.

Mose Kingsley will lead the first line of the press defense. He runs the court for the Razorbacks and always seems to be in control.

Arkansas and Seton Hall are playing great at the same time. They both won their conference tournament championships. Seton Hall won five games and three games over a NCAA Tournament field.

Arkansas rode a three-game victory streak into the SEC championship where they lost to Kentucky. Arkansas shoots the three-point shot a lot better than Seton Hall. Again, it will go back to tempo being the most important weapon.

These Mike Anderson Arkansas Razorbacks Nike Clinic notes will show you how the Razorbacks will press today. I hope that you will enjoy them.
