Fizdale was named the head coach of the Grizzlies back in May after being an assistant coach for the Miami Heat from 2008-2016. Before that, he was an assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors. He got his coaching start as an assistant coach at San Diego State (1998-2002) and also was an assistant at Fresno State (2002-2003). The Grizzlies are sitting in fourth place in the western conference to start December behind Golden State, San Antonio, and the Los Angeles Clippers. Mike Conley is leading the way in scoring with 19.2 points per game followed by Marc Gasol with 18 points per game. Gasol led the team last season in scoring with 16.6 points per game. Gasol this season is shooting 43.7% from the field, 41.7% from 3-point range, and 79.1% from the free-throw line. Gasol has been with the Memphis Grizzlies since 2008 after playing for FC Barcelona from 2003-2006 and Akasvayu Girona from 2006-2008. He was drafted in the 2nd round in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers and his draft rights were traded in 2008 to the Memphis Grizzles as part of a package that included Pau Gasol.

The play starts with Zach Randolph cutting off of Gasol and catching the ball on the wing. Then Marc Gasol sets a down screen and the guard curls around it back into the lane. The curl opens up Gasol on the block who gets it and can either score right away or step out and face up. Gasol likes to play on the left block and can score in a variety of ways.
