Kobe Bryant Fatigue Shooting

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Kobe Bryant Fatigue Shooting

I’m always looking for ways to get my players shooting in a game like situation where they have a challenge. This drill was shared by Gannon Baker and forces the player to make game like shots while incorporating an aspect of conditioning into workout.

1. The drill consists of a player having to make 4 shots in 17-18 sec.
2. The drill starts with a jumper from the foul line.
3. The shooter must run around a cone for the next three shots; these shots are also 3pt shots (unless you want a player with limitations to shoot closer in)
4. Shots are taken foul line, left wing, top of the key, and right wing
5. Coach can set the standard by any of the following:
Make the player shoot until they hit at each spot
You can time them and have them compete against their time
Take a second off of their time for each miss

We have a new basketball coaching contributor in Mark Chapman who is the Head Boy’s Basketball Coach at Hamilton Township High School in Columbus, Ohio. Coach Mark Chapman always has great basketball plays and basketball coaching clinic notes to share with the basketball coaching world. Make sure that you check out his basketball X’s and O’s material. You will love some of his coaching ideas.
