Below are five Jimmy Smith TLU Bulldogs Set Plays,  Smith just accepted an assistant coaching position at Sam Houston State after being the TLU Head Coach for two seasons. This will be his second stop at Sam Houston State, where he got his coaching start in 2004. From SHSU he went on to be an assistant at his alma mater, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he played and coached for Texas Coaching legend Ken DeWeese. While he was at UMHB as an assistant, the Cru went 70-18 and appeared in three NCAA Division III National Tournaments. In 2012, Smith took over as Head Coach of the Schreiner Mountaineers. He improved the winning record from 11 in 2013 to 15 in 2014. He then took over for the TLU Bulldogs in 2014 and led them to consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. This past season, the Bulldogs went 21-7.

Smith is known for his extensive offensive playbook and runs a similar style to what Brad Underwood ran at Stephen F. Austin. The plays often make great counter off of each other and are great for getting your best player the ball.

Smith uses a ram action here to get 5 into a running start to set a ball-screen for 1. The ram action is a down screen into a ball-screen which puts the defense at a disadvantage when guarding the ball-screen with x5. On the ball-screen, 5 rolls and 4 replaces 5.
