Igor Kokoskov Phoenix Suns Workout Drills

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

The Phoenix Suns made history this off-season by making Igor Kokoskov the first ever NBA head coach from outside North America. Kokoskov is of Serbian descent. Here are some Igor Kokoskov Phoenix Suns Workout Drills.

Kokoskov was most recently an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz and became a hot name for coaching jobs this past season. While not necessarily being a household name, Kokoskov has had a long tenure in the NBA with assistant coaching stints with the LA Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, and the Utah Jazz stretching all the way back to 2000.

He has also had an extensive national team coaching career. He was an assistant with Serbia and Montenegro in 2004-05 under European coaching legend Zeljko Obradovic. He has also been head coach of the Georgia national team for 7 years, and most recently the Slovenian national team where he helped win the Eurobasket 2017 gold medal and coached #3 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, Luka Doncic.

Here is an example of the Igor Kokoskov Phoenix Suns Workout Drills:

He has been due for a head coaching job in the NBA. His time is finally here and he will have the challenge of turning around a Suns franchise that has been struggling for quite a while. Known for his player development, he will use all his skills to develop the young talent on the Phoenix roster.

Here are just a few of the many Igor Kokoskov Phoenix Suns Workout Drills that he used to help Slovenia win the gold, and that he will use to help improve the Phoenix Suns.

Sidenote: One of my former basketball contributors was retained on the Phoenix Suns coaching staff. Brandon Rosenthal will be the assistant video coordinator. Coach Rosenthal was called up from the NAZ Suns when the Phoniex Suns fired Earl Watson.
