Today’s basketball plays are on David Preheim and the Horns Zipper 2 Set Play
Coach David Preheim runs a very nice basketball coaching blog: http://coachpreheim.blogspot.com. He provides a lot of great set plays along with Troy Culley who has donated to our website. They created a Horns Set Playbook that has almost a 100 Set plays out of the Horns Set. The Horns set is called because it looks like horns with the two post players at the elbows and two wings in the corners. If you have bigs that play away from the basket or close to the basket, you can use this set. The Horns Set Plays are used in the NBA and the International play on the way down to youth basketball.
This Horns Set Play involves down screen action, zipper action, dribble handoffs, and a pick and roll. The defense will have a tough time dealing with all these actions. It’s a great set play to introduce to an opponent in crunch time.
I hope that you enjoy this basketball play diagrammed by Coach David Preheim.
