I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Gregg Marshall Wichita State Shockers Shuffle-Double Stagger Action by Dana Beszczynski

Gregg Marshall has taken the Wichita State Shockers Men’s Basketball program to new heights since his arrival 9 years ago. In those 9 years, he has compiled a record of 204-76 including 95-15 over the last 3 years which saw the Shockers play in a Final 4 and have an undefeated season until a heartbreaking loss to Kentucky.

This is a nicely designed play to get the multi-versatile Ron Baker either a post-up action or a chance to utitlize his tremendous shooting ability coming off a double stagger screen.
The shocklers have one of the best backcourts in the nation this year with Baker and Van Fleet and will once again be a tough out for anyone in the Missouri Valley Conference.

The Gregg Marshall Wichita State Shockers began thier bid for a fourth straight 30 win season with a 88-63 victory against Charleston Southern. The Gregg Marshall Wichita State Shockers leading scorer: VanVleet, the preseason Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year after averaging 13.6 points, 5.2 assists and 1.9 steals in 2014-15, was limited to three minutes of action, leaving after he rolled his ankle. He had already been slowed by a strained hamstring.

VanVleet isn’t the only senior standout in the Gregg Marshall Wichita State Shockers backcourt, as he’s joined by Ron Baker and Evan Wessel. Baker had 15 points to lead five players in double figures, while senior Cleveland State transfer Anton Grady scored 12. Sophomore Rashard Kelly, the team’s only non-senior starter, had seven points and four rebounds.

Freshmen Eric Hamilton, Ty Taylor II and Landry Shamet all scored 10-plus.

I think that the Gregg Marshall Wichita State Shockers will be a team to watch all season. He is one of the best set play coaches out there. Take a look at this Shuffle-Double Stagger Action Set Play.
