Golden State Warriors Zipper Plays by Wes Kosel
Here are 6 zipper action plays from the Golden State Warriors. Four of the plays are man-to-man plays in the half-court and two of the plays are sideline out-of-bounds options. The zipper action is typically performed with a wing moving down to the block and cutting or looping around a down-screen by the post (typically in the mid-post). The player performing the zipper cut will end up in the slot (lane line extended) beyond the top of the key. The open space left by the cutter allows the point guard to dribble to the wing and make the pass to the wing or drive to the basket. As you will see, there are many variations of this action and the cutter does not always have to come from the wing.
