cDavid Loos Austin Peay – 2016 MBCA Clinic by Matt Woodcock

The David Loos Austin Peay Notes from the 2016 MBCA Clinic will help you fit your player development into your system. Coach Loos is known for his 3-out, 2 in high motion offense. He has used hi / low offense and build it with several play option from the wing, post, and dribble entry. He uses the “america’s play”, and how to hurt the defense with ball pentration, side to side movement, and an inside/out philosophy. Their aggressive post play will break down a defense and make them counter him.

Coach Loos and his Austin Peay team will play the the University of Dayton Flyers and Archie Miller. Coach Miller is 115-55 in his sixth season. Austin Peay’s Dave Loos is 409-391 in in his 27th season.

The Austin Peay governors won the Ohio Valley Conference tournament as a No. 8 seed in 2016, beating Tennessee State, Belmont and Tennessee-Martin to claim a berth in the NCAA tournament. Austin Peay lost 105-79 to Kansas in the first round.

Coach Loos thinks that the Govs will do well this year. They have a number of players back from last year and they shoot the ball really well. They will be competitive and make a run at the Ohio Valley Conference tournament again.

I think that you can learn a lot from a veteran like Coach Loos. You will learn shell drill and look at some diagrams to help your team.
