David Joerger Memphis Grizzlies NBA Quick Hitters by Wes Kosel
Attached are two plays from Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Joerger. The Grizzles won Sunday in a tough double overtime game against Phoenix to move to 26-11 on the season and 17-6 in conference. The Grizzlies are currently tied for 1st place in the Southwest Division with the Houston Rockets. Although the last ten games the Grizzlies have been in a bit of a slump (5-5), they will be looking to get back to how they started the season. In the first 25 games, the Grizzlies started 21-5. The Grizzlies are winning by sharing the ball (10th overall in assists per game with 22.6) and playing solid defense (8th overall in points allowed with 97.8). The following are two quick hitters that the Grizzlies used in the double overtime win over the Suns. Memphis has been very good at being patient and finding the open option in the play. The first play, Loop Slip, was used as a sideline out-of-bounds play in the game but can be used as a set play as well.
