Here are two set plays from former Memphis Grizzles Head Coach Dave Joerger designed for Marc Gasol. Gasol, a Spanish native, was selected in the 2nd round of the 2007 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. He has played with the Memphis Grizzles since 2008 and before that played internationally with FC Barcelona and Akasvayu Girona. He is a 2-time NBA All-Star (2012 and 2015), was defensive player of the year in 2013, All-NBA First team in 2015, all-NBA Second team in 2013, All-Defensive Second team in 2013, All-Rookie Second team in 2009, and Spanish League MVP in 2008. He has also played for Spain in the Olympics, FIBA World Championships, and FIBA European Championships. Coach Joerger, who was the Grizzlies head coach from 2013-2016, will begin his first season with the Sacramento Kings this year. Joerger was an assistant with the Dakota Wizards from 1997-2000 and was then named head coach in 2000. He then was with the Cedar Rapids River Raiders and Sioux Falls Skyforce before making the jump to the NBA as an assistant with the Grizzlies in 2007. A consistent winner, Joerger is an IBA Champion, CBA Champion, and NBA D-League Champion coach.

Horns Cross Bump
Gasol likes to get the ball on the left block, and in this play he bumps a cross screen from the guard to then post up on the left block. Once he gets the ball, the players space and allow him to take his defender 1 on 1.
Horns Flex Post
In this flex counter play, the flex cutter cuts around both 5 and 1, and then Gasol posts up after 1 cuts off of the down screen on the block.
