I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Dave Boots South Dakota Coyotes Offense by Wes Kosel

Here are two plays from former South Dakota Head Coach Dave Boots. Boots served as the head coach at South Dakota from 1988-2013. During that time, he led South Dakota Coyotes to 6 conference championships as a NCAA Division II member. As the Coyotes transitioned to Division I, he won a Great West Conference Championship in 2009-2010. Before taking over for the South Dakota Coyotes, Boots was the head coach at Augsburg in Minnesota. Boots played at Augsburg from 1975-1979. While at Augsburg, he won 100 games including 3 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships. In 31 years as a head coach, Boots coached at all three levels of NCAA play (Division I, Division II, and Division III). Even more remarkable, he won a conference championship at each level.
