After his playing career, he got into coaching as an assistant with the Toronto Raptors in 2000. He then went on to be an assistant at Iowa under head coach Steve Alford. He then moved with Alford to New Mexico in 2007, and was Alford’s assistant from 2007 to 2013. Continuous Runner
New Mexico used this play against San Diego State last season and ran one player off of continuous baseline staggered screens. The formation has the 1 and 2 on the perimeter (wide and spaced). 4 and 5 are on the blocks and set the staggered screen for 3 to run off of. 3 starts in the left corner and first runs left to right. If nothing is there, he turns and runs back to the left corner. Even if 3 gets the ball and passes it back out to 1 or 2, he can then run another cut to the opposite corner. This can be a great way to isolate a specific defender or can be used to tire out a good offensive player. This play can easily lead to side ball screens as well.
