I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Clemson Tigers Football | Dabo Swinney – Believe and Love

What a game that the Clemson Tigers Football team gave the nation last night. Alabama was good too, but you had to give Dabo Swinney the nod last night. X’s and O’s had a factor in the game, but it had to do with “Love” and “Believing.”

Coach Dabo Swinney talked last night about how they were going to win the National Championship. It was going to deal with “Love.” He told them before the game that they were going to beat Alabama because of “Love.” He said that they were going to win it because they love each other. It’s been their phrase all year long that he has used.

They have a have the word “Believe” on a sign in the Clemson Tigers Football team meeting room. It’s a phrase that they put on a t-shirt that Coach Dabo Swinney made. It’s been the mentality of the Football program all year long and why they were in their second national championship game back to back.

Coach Swinney became the head football coach in 2008, and he knew that Clemson had talent, but they didn’t believe in each other. He was aware that his top priority as the head man was to inspire his team.

No matter the loss that they had last year to Alabama, Coach Swinney never stop believing in his staff and team. The man shows his emotions, and you could tell that when they won.

Dabo is the model of active leadership. Last night after the game he told them that they were going to have greater moments in their life. That that he wanted to them to be great men and great fathers in their lives.

Coach Swinney is someone that is always inspiring his Clemson Tigers football team with a vision for the future and belief that it will happen.

Here are a few questions for your to think about:

Are you showing your team that you believe?
Are you optimistic with them or negative?
Do you share your belief with your team?
What could you and your team do if you believe that it is possible?
