I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Coaches,

After being completely sick with the crud / flu again…. I am watching the Chris Herren “Unguarded” / 30 on 30 ESPN feature. It is like I am flashing back to 1994-96 all over again. I was such a “HUGE” Jerry Tarkanian / Unlv / Fresno State fan. I remember watching the Fresno State Games in Neff Hall on Christmas Break at 1 am in the morning and having three a days the next day. I loved those times and cherish them.

I was a graduate assistant coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State University with George Hauser. Just hoping for a break into NCAA Division 1… I just encourage you and your teams to watch this special. It was very moving for me.

It gave me a chance to remember my dreams for a moment and also watch a tragic lifestyle of a basketball player trying to turn his life around. I really think that your players should watch it.
