Chad Kills Crow Haskell Indians Ball-Screen Offense

Attached is a ball-screen offense that Coach Chad Kills Crow used at Haskell when I was there as an assistant coach. The ball-screen offense is derived from the classic European ball-screen offense with side to side ball-screen actions. Coach Kills Crow is currently the head coach at Pawhuska High School in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Kills Crow served as the head coach of Haskell from 2009 – 2015. Before that, he was the head coach for Brighton Collegiate High School in Brighton, Colorado. He played at Haskell from 1994-1995 then transferred to Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. He began coaching at Northeastern State as an assistant and earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees during his time there. Haskell Indian Nations University competes in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference playing against NAIA opponents Bellevue, College of the Ozarks, Waldorf, Central Christian, York, Central Baptist, and Oklahoma Wesleyan.

Chad Kills Crow Haskell Indians Ball-Screen Offense – Continuous Ball-Screen Offense

The play starts in a 1-4 high set and has two entry options. 1) 1 dribbles to the right wing pushing 2 to the opposite corner. 2) 1 passes to 2 on the right wing then cuts through the lane to the opposite corner. Once the ball is on the wing, 5 steps out and sets a ball-screen. 4 steps out to the perimeter from the elbow as the pick and roll is occurring. 1 and 5 play a two-man game, and if no scoring opporunity is there 1 passes out to 4. 4 immediately turns left and 3 makes a back-cut to the basket. 1 pops out to the wing and 5 moves up the lane line to the slot on the perimeter. 4 passes to 2 then follows to set a ball-screen. The action continues the same way on the left side of the floor with 2 driving middle looking to score or pass to 4 on the roll. If the roll isn’t there, 2 kicks it out to 5.
