Bruce Pearl Auburn Tigers Flex Stagger Play by Dana Beszczynski
The Auburn Tigers secured the services of Bruce Pearl looking to turn around the basketball program. It was a risk as Pearl had a “show clause” after problems at the University of Tennessee. But, his popularity with the students immediatly was evident and excitement grew for the what the possibility could be with Auburn basketball due to Pearl’s previous successes.
The Auburn Tigers ran this play against Lousiana Lafayette and it a little adjustment to the normal Flex Offense.
Shamsid-Deen cuts through off the “Flex Screen” right into a double stagger action for Harrell. The action of Flex continues with a STS action, Granger setting a pin down for Shamsid-Deen coming off looking to catch & shoot if the double stagger opposite doens’t work.
A well designed adjustment if you need to get a shooter an open look in the Flex Offense!
