Bob McKillop Davidson Wildcats Double Stagger Play
The Bob McKillop Davidson Wildcats will take on Florida State in the first round of the NIT. Coach Bob McKillop is the master of set plays and mis-direction. He is best known as Steph Curry’s college coach, but he is one of the best mid-major coaches in the business.
Some of the best set plays over time have come from the Bob McKillop Davidson Wildcats. Coach Bob McKillop’s teams are known for scoring and while they don’t have this year’s version of Steph Curry on offense, they have been very efficient on offense.
The facts are that Davidson ranked 29th most efficient offense in the country on KenPom, scoring more than 1.1 points per possession on the year. They weren’t walking the ball up the court either. Davidson averaged 70.5 possessions which makes them 96th in the country and the 5th fastest pace in the ACC.

The Bob McKillop Davidson Wildcats are in the NIT because they are weak on defense. They were poor inside the paint and that was the cause of most of their problems
As you can see from the Doug Gottielb clip, the Bob McKillop Davidson Wildcats can shoot the ball from deep. They had a transfer from Miami of Ohio, who could fill it up from three in Brian Sullivan. Devon Booker is also another shooter who torches the nets from outside for a career 42.4%.
The came with the Bob McKillop Davidson Wildcats and Florida State Seminoles starts at 7pm on Tuesday night. You should be your notepad out and be diagramming some of Coach McKillop’s set plays.
You can’t go wrong watching as much basketball as you can over the next three weeks. I love this time of the year with the NCAA Tournament and NIT.
