I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. 2014-2015 Post Workouts by Michael Lang

I really enjoy working the post players. Here is another post workouts. As I shared with you in my first article on post workout the off season is very critical to one development. (45 min-1 hour M-T-TH). Some key points to individual post workouts.
• Make it competitive
• Chart the made and miss ( Post it on the team locker room)
• Game speed/Game post moves
• Watch the players footwork
• Video tape the individual post workout (Use it as a recruiting tool.)
• Give the players some contact while making his moves

Equipment
• Big balls (training balls)
• Gloves
• Cones
• Regulation size basketballs
• Clock

Transition Post Workouts
• Sprint layups
• Rim run post
• Seal & follow ball
• Trailer shot
• Shot fake (1 on dribble)
• Rip through

Progression shot jump- reverse (Hand-off)
(Roll on downscreen) (Sweep action)
Pitch Ahead Series
• Screen (Lob)
• Roll/Wedge way back
• Roll, locate& finish (spin)
• Roll, seal- across lane (high-low)
• Corner of back board

Low Post Series
• Drop step
• Jump hooks
• Turn around (jump shot)
• Crab dribble series
o Sin back
o Score middle
o Up & under
• Face – up Series
o Shot
o Score middle (off 2 feet)
o Rip baseline
• Duck – ins
• Seal over top pass
• Empty post (shot)
• Butt screen roll & finish (lob)
