Doug Porter’s Attack Basketball System based on the Grinnell System

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Doug Porter has taken Attack Basketball to a new level.  His basketball system is based on the Grinnell System and have been tweaked to fit high school (boys and girls), and college women’s teams.  It’s part Loyola Maramount Break and Dribble Drive Motion Offense.  His run and gun approach broke 18 women’s basketball records in the last four year including 104.1 points a game, 15.6 3pt made shots per game, 35.2 forced turnovers per game, and 19 100 point games in a season.  Coaching Basketball is his passion.
