Bo Ryan Wisconsin Badgers Princeton Action Set Play

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Bo Ryan Wisconsin Badgers Princeton Action Set Play

The Bo Ryan Wisconsin Badgers Princeton Action Set Play is something that this year’s team is using to get the job done.  Bo Ryan could have retired, but he came back to a team with little experience and they were going to take their lumps.  I think Bo Ryan is a great coach to watch, because he makes things simple and does so much individual improvement with his team.

The Wisconsin Badgers are 4-2right now after a stunning 2 point loss to Western Illinois.  They defeated Siena and North Dakota, but the level of competition increases significantly with two games this weekend in Madison Square Garden in New York.  Last night as I was writing this article, they were going to face two undefeated teams — No. 7 Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. Sunday (ESPN2) and unranked but surging Syracuse (6-0) at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday (ESPN2).

I live in Oklahoma so I am very familiar with the University of Oklahoma and Lon Kruger’s staff.  I think  playing in Madison Square Garden will be a eye-opening experience for some of the Wisconsin Badgers.  It is the Holy Grail of basketball.  Turnovers will be the key for this Bo Ryan Wisconsin team this year.

The Bo Ryan Wisconsin Badgers Princeton Action Set Play is a perfect example of why they can hold their opponent to under 64 points through six games after doing so in the 27 of 40 last season. They’re also allowing teams to shoot 46.8 percent from 3-point range.  Patience on offense is the key to their offensive production and defense.

Wisconsin has led the Big Ten in defense in nine of the past 13 seasons and ranked 12th nationally in defensive scoring (58.2) on the way to 36 wins and a national championship game appearance in 2014-15.
