Bo Ryan is a basketball coaching great and the University of Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Coach. He came to Wisconsin after being the four-time Division III National Coach of the year at UW-Platteville where he won four NCAA Division III National Championships. Bo Ryan is Wisconsin’s all-time winningest men’s basketball coach. His teams have made the Sweet 16 five times in his 11 years in Madison.Coach Ryan developed his Swing Offense at UW-Platteville.
The Swing offense is a four out/ one in pattered continuity offense. All five players are interchangeable and spacing, screening, cutting, and passing are essential. All the basketball players must learn how to post up in this offense. This offense is deliberate, value on each possession with high percentage inside shots, or free throws. Passing is the main weapon in this offense, the Swing Offense is a true “Team-Offense” that requires good fundamentals.
The Swing Offense is designed to be used against man to man defenses. It combines the elements of the UCLA offense, flex offense, and triangle offense. There are numerous counters for every kind of pressure defense. There are also numerous variations that can be used as well as set plays.
The swing offense is a great fundamental offense that requires work on passing, cutting, and spacing. It’s great for teams that aren’t very talented, but fundamental. I think that you like this basketball coaching material that I am going to share with you.
