Basketball Coaching Clinic Notes | Tom Izzo Rebounding and Zone Quick Hitters

Tom Izzo Rebounding and Quick Hitters Notes

Written by Coach Peterman

I have coached at the NCAA Division 2 (Southwestern Oklahoma State University), NAIA (USAO), and JUCO Levels (Blinn College and Carl Albert State College) as well as high school. I just felt that fellow coaches especially young coaches need to constantly work on their “game”. Just like the basketball players that we coach. We as coaches need to improve ourselves. That is my story and why I do this blog.

Tom Izzo Rebounding / Zone Quick Hitters.

These basketball coaching clinic notes focus on man to man defense key points, rebounding, basketball drills, defending the screen and rolls, and zone quick hitters.  You can learn a ton of basketball coaching knowledge from Tom Izzo.  He is the best basketball coach when it comes to Zone Quick Hitter and Rebounding.

In this presentation coach Izzon starts with the key points of Man to Man defenses. Then he stresses the importance in rebounding in both man to man and zone defenses.  Then he presents a set of drills that can help you teach your players how to rebound while defending. And then he shows how to defend the screen and roll offense. Finally, he presents some of his best zone quick hitters. These are great plays to attack against a tough zone defense. Tom Izzo is a master of rebounding and quick hitters. I’m sure you will find tons of ideas to fill in your personal playbook with basketball drills and plays. These are ideal for youth teams (college, high school and middle school), but can also help you if you coach a team overseas.
